”BTTI turned my struggle into strength.
Today, I’m an electrical engineer, a homeowner, and a role model, proof that opportunity changes everything.”
— Alice Adhiambo
After losing her father, Alice Adhiambo faced a heartbreaking decision, leave school and work as a house help to earn money for her education. Her dreams seemed distant, but her determination remained strong.
Her life changed when she joined the Beacon Technical Training Institute (BTTI) through a sponsorship program by Focus Africa in partnership with Beacon of Hope. At BTTI, Alice discovered her passion for electrical engineering, developed practical technical skills, and gained the confidence to turn her ambitions into reality.
With BTTI’s strong curriculum, supportive learning environment, and real-world training opportunities, Alice transformed from a struggling student into a skilled professional. She secured employment at Davis & Shirtliff, built her own home, and emerged as a role model in her community.
By equipping young people with hands-on skills, the institute helps break the cycle of poverty, foster meaningful change, and create brighter futures for generations to come. As part of Beacon of Hope, BTTI reflects our unwavering commitment to transforming lives and making sustainable change among youth.
