At Beacon of Hope Hospital, we hosted a life-changing outreach, “Wheels of Hope and Dignity,” bringing mobility, support, and renewed hope to hundreds of families. Through the collaborative efforts of Hope Mobility, Hope Haven, Empower Ability Foundation, and Beacon of Hope Hospital, families received mobility devices such as wheelchairs, crutches, and standing frames, alongside essential items including food baskets, blankets, mattresses, dignity packs, and Bibles.
The day began with a warm welcome at BOH, followed by health checks, registration, and personalized wheelchair fittings. Each device was customized and assembled on-site, allowing beneficiaries to leave fully equipped and supported on the very same day.
Beyond physical support, the initiative provided psychosocial support and counseling, addressing emotional and mental well-being. Many recipients received a mobility device for the first time, marking a renewed sense of independence, confidence, and dignity.
The program also included engagement with members of the clergy, empowering them to create inclusive and welcoming spaces within their congregations and offer spiritual healing to persons living with disabilities. This reinforced BOH’s commitment to holistic care—supporting both body and spirit.
The outreach closed with a profound sense of joy and fulfillment, demonstrating the power of faith, compassion, and collaboration. Together, these organizations are working to ensure that persons living with disabilities in our community can experience life with dignity, inclusion, and renewed hope.
