BOH has selected and trained a group of  community members who are older and retired professionals from the different target areas as community health workers. The main responsibility of this group is to monitor closely patients on ARV`s.

This group of volunteers visits the homes of these clients weekly to ensure that patients take drugs as instructed by the doctor. They identify new patients who need support and care. They are a link from the community to the centre and vice versa. The community health workers are under the supervision of the health care team to ensure all further specialised requirements by patients are met where HIV/AIDs is concerned.
