Initially this program started as a daycare for 15 children whose parents were in our vocational training program in the year 2002/2003. By the end of the 2004 there was need to expand the classes. Due to the increased number of children they were categorized into 2 -3 years,3 to 4 years. and 5 to 6 years. In addition there was need to provide these children with basic necessity such as food, education and health. They learnt under the supervision of teachers who were specialized in early childhood education. Currently the Kindergarten participates in a daily spiritual devotion to God whereby the children are taught the reality of God’s word and his goodness. In addition they participate in many co-curricular activities such as, games, art and craft, music, dances and drama in collaboration with other schools.
To maintain high education standards BOH has developed procedures and systems for achieving results. It also invests in teaching manuals and continuous work shadowing for our full time teachers in other bigger and well performing schools. As a way of working towards sustainability, the school plans to have a small percentage of its population paying some basic school fees this will help in increasing the income to support more children. The school also introduced work for school fees by parents as part of its sustainability efforts.
